Where AskWatch runs
iPhone
The full app: chat, Live conversation, comparison of several models side by side, Home Assistant control and Shortcuts. This is also where you enter your API keys — every other device picks them up from there.
iPad
The same app, on a bigger screen. One thing differs: an iPad cannot pair with Apple Watch, so the Watch settings are read-only there. Use an iPhone to set the Watch up.
Apple Watch
Ask by voice from your wrist and hear the answer read back. Works away from your iPhone once the settings have been cached, so a run without your phone still answers.
Apple TV
Ask from the sofa, on the big screen. The remote's microphone works, and so does your iPhone as a microphone when dictation on the remote is awkward.
Mac
A native Mac app with a floating panel, a menu bar item, a Safari extension, global keyboard shortcuts and a command-line tool. Handy when the question is about something already on your screen.
CarPlay
Hands-free while driving: ask out loud and hear the answer. Not a separate download — it is part of the iPhone app and appears once your iPhone is connected to the car.
Live conversation — the real-time speech-to-speech mode — runs on iPhone, Apple Watch, CarPlay and Mac.
What carries over, and what does not
Carries over by itself:
- Your subscription — AskWatch+ and AskWatch Ultra belong to your Apple Account, not to one device. Sign in with the same account and the managed models are there.
- Lifetime PRO — the one-time purchase, likewise tied to your Apple Account.
- Your own API keys — stored in iCloud Keychain, so they reach your other devices without being typed again.
Set per device: which provider and model a given device starts on, voice and text-to-speech choices, and Home Assistant servers. These are deliberately separate — the model you want on Apple Watch is rarely the one you want on Mac.
Getting it
AskWatch is one App Store listing. Search for Ask Watch AI on the device you want it on:
- iPhone and iPad — App Store. Apple Watch installs from the Watch app on your iPhone, and CarPlay comes with the iPhone app.
- Apple TV — App Store on Apple TV.
- Mac — Mac App Store.
Do I pay again?
No. The app is free to download on every device, and both the subscription and lifetime PRO are bought once against your Apple Account. Bringing your own API keys stays free everywhere — you pay your provider directly, as always.
